Have you ever dreamed about becoming a rockstar or a prolific musician? The Sims 4 allows you to live out your fantasy through your sim. So Let’s begin Sims 4: How to Write Songs tutorial, and help you pave your way to a successful music career!
Learning how to write songs in The Sims 4 is as simple as learning and leveling up any other skill, such as homework, designing, or diving as a mermaid.
Having musical traits on your sim will also help you speed things up. However, it’s still a long process either way.
Start off by leveling up the instrument you’re going to use to level eight. You can choose to play a guitar or piano. The choice is yours.
Once you’ve reached level eight in your instrument of choice, you’ll gain access to the ‘Write Song’ ability with that instrument.
Sims 4: How to Write Songs is a time-consuming process. If you stop your sim in the middle of writing a song, you’ll be able to pick up where they left off, and you won’t lose any progress.
Additionally, your sim will get a new book that contains the musical sheets. Once you’ve finished writing a song, you’ll be able to replay it at any time.
And there you have it! Sims 4: How to Write Songs is simple, but it takes a while to actually get there.
Sims 4: How to Make Money from Your Songs
Making Money with Tips
Even though you won’t be able to write songs from the get-go, you can still earn tips. Practicing in public will allow you to hit two birds with one stone, earning money while leveling your skill.
Each time you level up your skill, other sims will tip an additional $2. Practicing this way can net you some nice cash on the side.
Don’t expect too much, but anything within the range of a couple of hundred Simoleons is reasonable.
If you plan on making a living off music, the best way is to write your lyrics in public as you’ll still get tips even if you’re not actively playing for them.
How to Make Money Licensing Music
If you manage to level up multiple instruments to level 9, your sim will unlock the ability to license songs.
However, you must keep in mind that you won’t be making much money initially, and it takes a long time until you can actually live off song licensing.
Licensing music is made via the Mailbox. Weirdly enough, you can only license one song at a time for each instrument.
Once you’ve licensed one of your songs, it’ll play for a week at 10AM each day, bringing in $200 to $800 each time.
Unfortunately, making a career out of music in the sims is not as lucrative as the other artistic careers due to unrealistic limitations that hamper your income and progress.
However, playing The Sims 4 has never been about the optimal approach. Rather it’s about having fun and seeing your fantasies to life in a fun, engaging way.
